MESH & LACE RECORDINGS. CD/DL Essex quartet rightfully claim elder statesmanship on shrewd opener Long In The Tooth (“1 know something that you don’t know”). The cold clang of post-punk guitars and synths sounds very ‘now’, but the veteran 4AD band bring a depth and worldliness to these songs that sets them apart. JB
